Earth Day will be here before you know it. I love spending about a week reading Earth Day books (you can find a list of my favorite Earth Day books here) and doing crafts with kids. We spend the week going over how important it is to protect our Earth and ways we can help in our classroom and at home. One of my all-time favorite Earth Day crafts that I do with my kindergarten or first-grade students is my Earth Day Promise craft. Students will list the ways they promise to take care of the earth and sign and date it. It’s a cute Earth Day craft for elementary students that can be easily displayed on a bulletin board.
The Earth Day Promise craft does take some time to complete, however, this Earth Day craft could easily be done in two days or by working on it during the morning and then in the afternoon. Students take this promise very seriously and are immensely proud of their completed work once they are finished. If you would like to do this craft with your class, the materials needed, the directions, and the template are down below.

- Then have the student can paint the trees and the remaining countries in green and brown paint.
- Lastly, repeat the entire process until the entire class is done, and then finally, send home the craft or display craft on the bulletin board.
Congrats! Now you know the steps to complete this craft, however, feel free to display these on a bulletin board or outside your classroom once the students are finished.
