Welcome! My name is Laura, and I’m the teacherpreneur and founder of The Traveling Educator. I started my teaching journey back in 2006. I spent many years teaching kindergarten and first grade with the most recent years as an elementary librarian. I have a master’s degree in reading with certifications in counseling and media specialist.
I’m a Florida girl at heart, but I currently live in Texas with my husband, Ryan, and my son, Nicholas. When I’m not creating high quality teaching resources, you can find me spending time with my family or traveling the world.
In 2013 I started creating resources for my first-grade students. I just moved to Texas, and I was struggling to have enough resources in my classroom. After looking for help online, I just happened to find the website Teachers Pay Teachers and thought that since I’m already making resources for my class, why not share for other teachers too. Helping teachers and students all around the world, by creating high quality and engaging resources, has become one of my favorite hobbies and passions. My goal is to help and serve an ever-growing number of teachers by providing these resources to help their students. I love being able to connect with fellow educators, and I hope to get to know more teachers in the future.
